The Torranyard sits on the A736 which connects Irvine and Kilwinning with Barrhead via Lugton and at one time was owned by Billy McNeil and Joe McBride of Celtic fame many many years ago.
I hadn’t been over the door in a long time but despite arriving late due to a missed ferry I was greeted with first name terms at the door and a very smart young waiter showed us to our table. I apologised profusely for our late show to the maitre D’ who I’ve known for a long time and was told it had caused them no problems and he was delighted to see us back again.
We had intended to have a quick meal and then move on however we ended up spending the rest of a most enjoyable night at the Torranyard.
Service was as slick as it comes and the food, veg pakora and two tandoori dishes were cooked to perfection!!……..it almost seemed a pity to go home it was such an enjoyable evening.
The Torranyard isn’t palatial but what they lack in surroundings they make up for with super service and great food…..if you havn’t been give it a try!!
